One more fact: I *think* this only happens when I hit my <return> key to dismiss the dialog, rather than manually clicking the "Save" button. Either that, or it's intermittent and I've gotten unlucky. -Ken

When I open my command history pane and click the "Save History" button, I can save the history fine and when I click the dialog's "Save" button, the file chooser dialog disappears. However, if I then hit command-` to cycle through windows, the dialog suddenly reappears from thin air. The only way I seem to be able to get rid of it permanently is to quit R.app and restart it.
