Thanks to Peter Macdonald, I fixed a serious bug that crashed the system under MacOS 8.6. Now it should work, and it is sufficient to replace the R binary with the one found at http://www.ci.tuwien.ac.at/~iacus/R/R_86.hqx So now people with 8.6 machine should be able to test this version. Stefano

This is true also for OS 9.04 (G4) (the previous version worked on my brandnew iBook under 9.2. I did not try it on OSX).
