R-1.7.1

I have been asked to provide one more binary of R for Darwin/X11/TclTk

On http://gifi.stat.ucla.edu/pub find R-1.7.1.dmg.gz. This is R-patched  
from
June 21, 2003. It differs from previous offerings

-- it does not use fink, and thus /sw, and the needed dylibs are  
installed
in /usr/local/lib

-- it only has the base packages, which makes it less than 10MB (instead
of 110MB for R-1.7.0).

-- it uses tcl/tk 8.5 (probably transparently)

-- no support for the gnome  GUI  

This is my last update. Unified R-1.8.0 is next. Enjoy.
