R 2 questions

Hi,

I downloaded the new R 2.0 and installed it on an iMac with OS X 
10.3.5. I noticed that the preferences option in the R menu was grey 
and unavailable. Is this normal?

Also, upon installing R 2.0 and before adding any package, I tried 
twice to select "Package Manager" under "Packages and Data" and both 
times R quit on me. The third time I selected Package Installer under 
the same menu and added a few packages. Now I can select "Package 
Manager" to chose which ones to load.

I don't know if the unexpected quits were due to the few packages that 
were there from my previous use of R 1.9.1. Some of these I updated to 
newer versions when I used the Package Installer, so maybe they no 
longer cause that crash. I was wondering if other people get this crash 
after installing R 2.0 and before adding-installing new packages...
