command line editing with vi in MacOS X

I have successfully installed R using the R-1.4.0-MacOSX-full.tar.gz
archive in /bin/macosx/ and I would like to use vi command line editing
inside of R.  I am using the tcsh shell and have it set to use vi command
line editing.  I see info on using emacs editing but really would rather
use vi.  Is it possible?  If so, what do I need to do to configure things
properly?
