it does Richard, but you don't get the visual feedback until the quartz window has been refreshed. And this happens as soon as the ESC key is pressed (and the process terminated). I think we cannot fix it as far as I remember due to the way quartz is handled. Simon, any thoughts? stefano

Stefano, The main problem isn't terminating the problem (although that is a problem too). The problem is that clicking the mouse buttons don't identify the points in Quartz. On Jan 14, 2007, at 4:41 PM, stefano iacus wrote:

Yes, I know that! The problem is that it's not working like that. The mouse button doesn't do anything in the Quartz window. Thx, Dick On Jan 14, 2007, at 4:28 PM, stefano iacus wrote:
from the man page of identify ?identify For the usual X11 device the identification process is terminated by pressing any mouse button other than the first. For the quartz device the process is terminated by pressing the ESC key. On 14/gen/07, at 18:14, Richard De Veaux wrote:
I'm having problems with identify running R under Mac OS X 10.4.8. The pop up window says to left click to identify, right click to exit, but I don't seem able either to find points or to exit. Any advice?
