You can set argument 'big.mark' in settings.meta() which is considered in
printouts and forest plots.
events <- c(12000, 5000, 800, 30000)
n <- c(50000, 10000, 5000, 40000)

settings.meta(big.mark = ",")
m <- metaprop(events, n)
forest(m)
