[R-meta] variance explained by fixed & random effects

Sorry, it's hard for me to give examples, given that my data is extremely different from a meta-analysis of medical studies. My question was more - when I use rma.mv (as I need to do for my data), my tau is 0... but I have values for sigma^2. So I just want to know if I can substitute simga^2 for tau in the code you provide?

Thanks!
Theresa
