Careful readers will have noticed that we have not released the lme4 package yet, although we said we would do so on August 1. http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.lang.r.lme4.devel/10265 The package is in pretty good shape, but especially with several bug reports rolling in the last few days (many of them long-standing!) we decided we needed a few more days to let things stabilize. Barring emergencies, we plan to submit to CRAN on Monday August 5 -- it will probably take a few more days after that for the package to appear/propagate to mirrors. Thank you for this information, Ben. On a related note. What is the fate of lme4.0 package? Is it going to be submitted to CRAN about the same time? Thank you Andrzej Galecki
