Btw. if we are already talking about aspell, how about using hunspell instead?
AFAIR (but FIXME) aspell for windows is long unmaintained.

R supports hunspell as well, although as I remember, a slight change in needed
in the check code, because that is hardwired to aspell.

Yes I plan to add qpdf and aspell as optional pieces of rtools for
package authors. Just haven't gotten there yet.
