[OGRUG] Centres of ExpeRtise within GOC?
Alex I'm retired now but am pretty sure R is still used at the Bank of Canada, and has been since circa 1997. (I find it hard to believe that some of the arguments against open source still seem to be as uninformed as they were in the early 1990s.) You can also add OSFI and CDIC to your inventory, as I know through contacts that it is used there. Also, for those that missed it, the US government has a new policy on open source: https://sourcecode.cio.gov/ Paul Gilbert

Hey folks - Not sure if this is on-topic for this list, but I've become curious about the prevalence of R use in the Government of Canada (GOC) - particularly how many analytic teams are using R as their primary language. So, if you're a member of (or just know of) such an "R Shop", could you let me know? Any information on specific tasks or level of expertise would be a helpful addition.
