Hi,
Is a package that reaches the timeout during buiding considered as broken?

I've changed segmentSeq to single core because there's a problem that
I've looked into but haven't yet been able to solve. As a result, the
vignette is taking much longer to build. My aim is to solve the problem
or switch to BiocParallel in January.

Best,
Samuel

Yes we would consider a TIMEOUT as broken as it would prevent the package from propagating and being available to end users.

If we know maintainers are actively trying to fix the issues and actively pushing to the git.biocondutor.org repo to try to remedy the situation, we would be more lenient about immediate deprecation. But it should be fixed before the next release; if it does not build/check the entire cycle we would deprecate it before the 3.21 release happens.

Cheers,
